IT Security Manager at the Defence Medicine Centre

The Defence Medicine Centre is growing, and to meet the high demands of today and the future in a constantly changing world, we are now looking for an IT Security Manager for the security department.

The Defence Medicine Centre (FömedC) is the responsible centre for the entire field of defence medicine within the Armed Forces. The unit consists of a staff, the Armed Forces Combat School for Defence Medicine that works with qualified medical training, the Functional Unit that drives capability orientation, research, total defence issues, and functional development, and the Hospital Battalion that trains qualified medical units. As the IT Security Manager, you will be placed in the security department (J2) at the FömedC Staff. At J2, military and civilian employees work to provide decision-making support to managers and assist directly subordinate managers in the areas of intelligence and security service.

Main Responsibilities

As the IT Security Manager, you will handle matters related to IT security, security protection, and especially information security.

Your work will include:

  • leading and coordinating IT security work within the relevant organizational unit
  • leading the development of threat, risk, and vulnerability analyses for IT systems, as well as IT security analysis, IT security plans, and IT security regulations
  • supporting the security manager in planning and implementing internal controls within the relevant organizational unit, focusing on IT security in daily security protection work, as well as security reporting and follow-up of security reports
  • supporting the FömedC IT manager in developing local accreditations for the IT systems used and in procuring IT equipment to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements
  • advising and training the organization's managers in security service with a focus on IT security

The Armed Forces are growing, and the tasks may evolve over time.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in computer science, information security, or equivalent education deemed appropriate by the employer
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Security Protection Act and OSL
  • Deep technical competence regarding IT and information systems
  • Good ability to express oneself in writing and speaking in Swedish and English
  • Driving license B

In this position, you will handle security protection classified information, so it is important that you are structured and meticulous in your work and that you have a high level of integrity. You will represent both your immediate organizational unit and the Armed Forces as a whole, both nationally and internationally. Therefore, we see that you are communicative, pedagogical, and good at creating and maintaining social relationships. Employment comes with the obligation to be placed in wartime, participate in training, exercises, and missions, both domestically and abroad. Unusual working hours may occur. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

  • Completed basic military training deemed appropriate by the employer or previous employment in the Armed Forces
  • Experience working in security service within the Armed Forces
  • Experience working in the Armed Forces' security classified systems
  • Experience working within the Armed Forces' security organizations
  • Experience working with security protection classified activities and information

Other

Employment type: Permanent. The employment begins with a 6-month probationary period.
